IRONMAN 70.3 Shanghai 2018
Back in May, at the time we were excited and celebrating the strong finish of tough IRONMAN 703 Vietnam, the announcement of 70.3 SHANGHAI just happened at the right time while we were looking at every single toys and addicted into the game! Why? We seldom have a chance to race in the cool weather environment in Asia, and it’s a flat course. It’s definitely a race to make record!
We quickly line up and put this as our 2nd target race for the 2nd half of 2018 within Team Sonic. It’s the important common goal we set and put that into our training objective.
We had enjoy a mid-season break in June so our training was a bit relax and more technique focus, then we re-grouped in July and started the 4 months training cycle.
It was very hot to train in July and August, rain and shine we strict to the plan. Liters and liters of sweating in every sessions, at some point we were frustrated by not progressing and having hard time dealing with the heat and the rain, until we gone though 1 or 2 race simulations, and by the time the weather turning little cooler, we started seeing gain, we got dividend! Our confidence built up when structural training, knowledge, experience and great mindset coming together. We put on our race suit, stepped on the starting pontoon with confidence, we showed up ready, prepared, no fear, and we made new record!
