Wrapping up 2021

2021 is a short and intense season for #teamsonictriathlete; we had the COVID 4th wave in the entire 1st quarter then things start relaxing in April, our training also resuming in full swings; Sonic Time Trial 1 at Sunny Bay became the season opener in early May, that 4k/36k/4k Duathlon was challenging for mind and body under the early summer heat condition! It was also fun to include our oversea members from London, Vancouver and Melbourne to take part together in virtual category! Right after that we had the 2nd Time Trial in June

2021 Sonic Time Trial 4 - Duathlon

2021 Sonic Time Trial 4 will be the final game of the season 2021.

Series ranking will be based on the accumulated shortest time taken in 4 races; Top 3 male/female will be awarded in our end of season party.

27 November will be Duathlon format at Wu Kau Tang for 3.2k run - 41k bike - 6.4k run
We will re-used the course from Duathlon 2020.

After the long summer break, our 3rd game will be set on 31 October for 700m swim 5k run for two times in enduro format, at our home court Repulse, water temperature expected around 26C.

2021 IRONMAN Copenhagen virtual - coaching journey with James

In one weekend of late August, there is a crazy man in Sonic James Shum completed the IRONMAN distance swim 3.8k at Repulse, cycle 180k in Tung Chung, 42.2k run in TKO, under the scorching heat of Hong Kong, as his IRONMAN Copenhagen virtual, that he signed up in 2019!

There is not the post-Olympic effect but definitely the James effect! Few members come to me about this so let me share a few things in that 12 months of coaching journey.

Sonic Tri Wellness Camp 2021 wrap up

Our first inaugural Tri-Wellness camp done and dusted! It is quite experimental to run a camp in our friend’s house in the beautiful Shek O, 2 days 1 night filling with Wellness activities on top of our Triathlon training. In the meantime we keep our #teamsonictriathletes fueling with high quality foods and nutrition rich recovery drink, energy smoothie!
